TAKE THE QUIZOne that handles tempo, time signature, and subdivision. Ours does that. Use it every day.
Use a pitch generator to play a sustained drone note. For cello tuning, start with A (440 Hz or 220 Hz for A3), then tune your A string. Move to D (146.83 Hz), G (98 Hz), and C (65.41 Hz). Listen for 'beats' between the strings and drone — when they disappear, the strings are in tune.
C2: 65.41 Hz. G2: 98.00 Hz. D3: 146.83 Hz. A3: 220.00 Hz (equal temperament). In practice, you tune in pure fifths.
Rhythm is the foundation. You cannot phrase well if your rhythm is unreliable.
The tools are free. The courses take your playing to the next level.
